VINE
Victim Information & Notification Everyday

The following excerpt was taken from the Kentucky Department of Corrections Office of Victim's Services webpage-

The Office of Victim Services (OVS) began as the Department of Corrections' VINE program in 1997. VINE (Victim Information and Notification Everyday) is the automated notification system that alerts victims about a change in the custody status of their offender. The Department's program was reorganized in 2004 with a deeper focus on victims and their need for assistance throughout the criminal justice process. This need for assistance does not stop once an offender has been sentenced. In fact, it continues throughout an offender's custody and OVS is the arm of Corrections to handle those requests for assistance. Victim advocates from OVS work with victims daily as they attempt to locate information about their offender. They also travel the state to educate those involved in the criminal justice system about the VINE program – with the goal that all victims are aware of the protection the service offers.

The VINE program is an exceptional tool that will allow victims of crime to be notified on the status of an offender. Follow the link to the VINE page for more information.
